After his brilliant performance as Edachena Kunkan,
Pazhassi Raja’s ‘Thalapathy’ (Commander-in-Chief),
Sarathkumar’s mobile has not stopped ringing.
The critics and the masses feel his role has shaped out the best in the film. The producers of the film Gokulam Gopalan, has now printed new posters of the film in Kerala which has larger than life pictures of Sarathkumar!
Sarath, the chief of Tamil Artists Association popularly known as Nadigar Sangam is now being flooded with offers from Malayalam.
At a function in Kozhikode organised by the Pazhassi Raja Charitable Trust to commemorate the 204th death anniversary of the legendary king, Sarath Kumar was the chief guest.
At the function, where he was almost mobbed by enthusiastic fans, Sarath said:" I owe it to the powerful script of MT Vasudevan Nair, the brilliant direction of Hariharan and the generosity of that fine actor Mammooka (Mammootty), as he could have easily chosen my role, but he did not and also gave equal footing to all other characters which made the film richer.”
Sarath says he is open to the idea of doing more Malayalam films. “I have been getting good offers, but I’m not in a hurry to sign new films. First I need good directors like a Hariharan and a producer like Gokulam Gopalan, if I were to do more films in Malayalam.”
