A lavish tale of opposites, the story is about Viraj Shergill (
Akshay) who happens to be working as a stuntman in Hollywood and like a typical person, he believes that women are good only for two things. On the other hand, there is Simrita Rai (
Kareena) who is attitude to the fullest and she can show her power through her highly acidic words. Her true colors are revealed whenever she comes across a man who has arrogance written all over him. As fate would have it, the paths of Viraj and Simrita cross each other when Viraj's brother Lucky (
aftab) is all set to marry his lady love Kamini (
amrita arora) and she happens to be the best friend of Simrita. From then on, both Viraj and Simrita cross swords against each other and in this process; they also decide to stop the wedding of their loved ones at any cost. But fate has something else in store for them, what is that? Watch the movie and find out.
The director has come up with a storyline that lacks sense but then the narration and presentation makes up for all the flaws. The dialogues are witty, the script was written with few loose ends, and the screenplay was neat. Music and background score are top notch and there are three songs that are worth listening to. Cinematography is fabulous and editing has been crisp but could have been better at few places. The costumes are mind blowing and the art department was excellent for providing a grand visual feast. Akshay Kumar has shown why he is called the best and he carries off the role with excellent timing. Kareena from her end was quite gorgeous and she does her role very well. Aftab looked apt for his role and Amrita looks seductively hot yet again. Javed Jaffrey was not used to the fullest, Boman Irani was perfect, Kiron Kher was regular, the Hollywood stars Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh, and Denise Richards provide enough adrenalin for the crowds to go mad. The others did their bit as required.
The film takes off with a flyer and it is non stop excitement and fun till the interval arrives. However, the second half slows the momentum as there were few unwanted scenes and an emotional angle that kind of breaks the rhythm. However, the climax culminates exceedingly well and kind of makes up for the drag part. The film runs solely on the presentation and the performance aspect and though there is not much to content to be found, it is the grandeur that gives a delight. The film will surely appeal to the mass audience and also for the urban audience who are looking for some good moments of two plus hour’s entertainment.
