Anil Kapoor has revealed that he deliberately misspelled
Short Cut because a numerologist advised him that the variation was lucky.
The actor-turned-director described the film, which was released in the UK, as a "fun, commercial" movie intended as wholesome family entertainment.
He told reporters at a press conference in New York: "I'm not expecting any critical acclaim or awards for it. Its job is to entertain."
Regarding the misspelling, he added: "A numerologist told me K would be lucky for Short Cut. It better be or else I'll hammer him!"
Kapoor also revealed that he has now started work on his next project with director Aneez Bazmee, with whom he collaborated on No Entry and Welcome.
"The film has been in pre-production for some time and goes into production on [July 10]," he said.
Kapoor is currently filming his fifth episode of US TV series 24.
