Gauthami is now entering the small screen and returning to acting with
Abirami Ramanathan's mega serial titled Abirami.The grand inauguration of the serial was done this morning at a function held at the Abirami Mega Mall.
Padmashree Dr Kamal Hassan switched on the camera while Rama Narayan, president of the powerful producers council gave the first clap. Present on the occasion were dignitaries Amirtham of Kalaignar TV, Khushboo, Kasturi Raja, Kutty Padmini, Kalpana, VC Guhanathan, TV actor Srinivasan, KRG, Kalaipuli Thanu and Kalaipuli Sekar amongst others.
Abirami Ramanathan announced his grand plans of producing many more such serials in the future and said he had made the inaugural function in cinema puja style. "Earlier we had made serials like Devathai and a few others but now we have decided to go into serials in a big way since the reach is enormous."
The creative head will be
Kutty Padmini whose daughter has written the story.
Gauthami was happy to be donning the greasepaint once again and said, "Many people have been asking me when I am going to return to acting and this is my step in that direction.
Kutty Padmini has been following it up with me for the past eight months and I am glad its all worked out so well. More details of my role will be announced later."
While
Khusboo welcomed
Gauthami's move to the small screen,
Kamal too was encouraging, "Abirami's step into TV is a good one. Films and TV are allied industries and its good to see that both are surviving and coexisting well together since I think they are interdependent."Nalli Kuppusami Chetty has sponsored the clothes while NAC jewelers will be sponsoring 50 lakhs worth of real jewellery to be worn during the serial. The serial will be aired on Kalaignar TV.
