Firaaq

Nandita Das explores the aftermath of one such unfortunate event in her directorial debut, Firaaq. Firaaq doesn\'t aim to be a cerebral treatise on communalism. It has been made on communal rebellions taking the Godhara incident as base but the film portrays six different stories of people of different class and society who suffer losses of relations, property and much more, during a riot. Every time when there is a catastrophe in society or a riot happens or militant attack or a war, anywhere in any part of the world, people have to face similar events, the minority or the less equipped group has to suffer.
