Rachna Chawla alias Boomika was born on 21st August 1978. She is the youngest daughter of Colonel and Bali Chawla couple. She has an elder brother and an elder sister. She did her schooling education in Delhi. She moved to Mumbai in 2007. She started her career as a model in Ad films and Video albums. It is the Ad films where she had learnt nuances of acting and expressions. A natural poet, she had written more than 100 English poems. She married Mr.Bharat Thakur in 2007. With her vibrant charming face she earned her film offers from Tollywood.
Her first Telugu film was
Yuvadu in 2000. However she was recognized in her second Telugu film
Kushi. The movie was a blockbuster and she was flooded with more offers. She was noted for her films
Jai Chiranjeeva,
Sathyabama, and
Mallepuvvu. This simple, yet elegant actress earned her Tamil debut through the film
Badri. An absolute combination of grace and charm, she carries her well decently in all attire. She became the audience girl through her film
Roja Kootam. After giving many commercial hits, she gave her Bollywood entry in film
Tere Naam. The movie was a big hit and credited more Hindi films. Her notable films are “
Gandhi, My Father” and “
Benaam”. She also gave her entry in Punjabi film
Yaariyan. Her soft face, dazzling smile and sweet voice established her as an actress of Southern styles.
She was the recipient of the
Best New Comer Female Award and
Best New Comer Award for
Tere Naam. She received the
Best Debut Trophy Award from Zee Awards. She received the
Best Actress Award from Andhra State.
