David Dhawan, one of the reputed names of Hindi films’s real name is Rajinder Dhawan. Actor Anil Dhawan is his brother. He is a serious film-maker who makes others laugh by doing the serious business of comedy. He was a table tennis player at national level. He represented Punjab team in his college days in 1973 -74. He still plays it whenever he gets time and loves watching cricket. He made his way into Bollywood with the hopes of becoming an actor but started his career as an editor. He has acted in many Hindi films. He later turned into one of the top directors of Bollywood film industry with his rollicking comic films. His most notable films include Raja Babu, Coolie No. 1, Saajan Chale Sasural, Hero No.1, Deewana Mastana, Biwi No. 1 and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. He along with actor Govinda came up with some of the best comedy films. Most of his movies earned an excellent credit, both from the point of popularity as well from financial earnings. He is married to Karuna Dhawan and has two children Rohit and Varun.
