Chunky Pandey was born on September 26th 1962 in Mumbai, India. His real name is
Suyash Sharad Pandey, but is also known as Chandrakant Pandey. He married Bhavna in 1998 and has two daughters. Starting out his Bollywood career in 1987 with the film
Daraar, he shot to the spotlight with his role as Munna\'s in the movie
Tezaab in 1988. He is still remembered for his role as Akash Bharaj in
Vishwatma in 1992 and Haricharan in
Insaniyat in 1994. He was noted from his pairing with
Govinda in the hit film
Aankhen and with
Sunny Deol in
Paap Ki Duniya, Vishwatma and
Lootere. Unfortunately for him many of his films in which he had the leading role never did well at the box office. It was always his secondary leading roles that made the most impact. His career began to fade from the limelight in the mid 90s. As a result, he traveled to Bangladesh in the late 1990s to keep his acting career alive. The first Bangla film he did was called
Shami Keno Asha Me which was a super duper hit, the biggest hit ever made in Bangladesh. Surprisingly he became a superstar overnight in Bangladesh, starring in numerous Bengali movies. Ironically, he had never spoken Bangla and his voice was dubbed over.
The lean young fellow who fired youngsters\' imagination with
Aag Hi Aag? The spark failed to become a flame. Though the young man managed to share screen space with the leading ladies of the day, including
Madhuri Dixit in the forgettable
Khilaaf he is just remembered for two supporting roles.
Anil Kapoor’s Tezaab and
Govinda\'s Aankhen owe their stupendous success to convincing performances by him. Written off as a non-actor by the critics, he returned in 2002 playing supporting roles in
Qayamat: City Under Threatin 2003,
Elaan in 2005 and
Ssukh in 2005. He was then critically acclaimed for his performance in
Ram Gopal Varma\'s gangster thriller
D in 2005. With
Apna Sapna Money Money, he has proved that his magic is not yet over. He made a brief appearance in
Don in 2006 starring
Shahrukh Khan and had a supporting role in
I See You. He is also known for his comedian role in the movie
Fool N Final. He also launched an event management company, Aim, doing shows with his friends in the film industry and managing events of companies like Hero Honda and LG. He is also involved in a business \'Bollywood Electric\' which hosts stage shows. He and Bhavna also run a health food restaurant in Mumbai, India.
